Zapdos, along with Articuno and Moltres, is one of the Legendary birds of Kanto. It's and avian Pokémon with predominantly yellow plumage, black rings encircle its eyes and it has a long, thing, light orange beak. Its wings and tail are a mass of spiky feathers, with black feathers covering the back of it's rings and inner tail feathers. As well as a large crest of spikes feathers surrounds its head. When Zapdos flaps its wings it releases electricity that can potentially cause thunderstorms. When stricken by lightning, it gains power and its reportedly appears only during thunderstorms as it's said to live among the thunderclouds.

The base color of the coat is the same yellow that covers Zapdos body. The cuffs on the jacket that circles the wrists are black, representing the black rings that encircles Zapdos eyes. The patterns around the black cuffs represent a lightning bolt in light orange, connecting back to the long, light orange beak it has as well as it produces electricity to cause thunderstorms and it gains power when struck by lightning. The “skirt” of the coat looks just like Zapdos wings, spike looking in yellow and black. The three buttons are in orange, connecting back to the beak once again. Why it's just three buttons comes from the fact that Zapdos is one of the three Legendary birds.
